Part One quick answers.

My first mobile phone was an iPhone. It was quite easy to use. I use my mobile phone every day, or on a daily basis. I usually use it to search for information, study and play games. I don't think I spend too much time on my phone because I need it to do a lot of things.

I don't like buying shoes. However, I need to buy new shoes every three months because I train really hard, so my shoes are destroyed very quickly. I usually wear sneakers because I play basketball and I need my shoes to fit and give me good traction. I have never bought shoes online because I think it is important to try on the shoes and see what size they are, and whether they fit.

I love flowers because they are very beautiful. My favorite flower is the peony because it is a famous Chinese flower. I think flowers are important because a lot of people like using flowers to express their emotions and how they feel. The last time someone gave me flowers was a year ago. I got them from my mom.

Part Two sample answer one: a useful book.

There are many books in the world, and today I would like to talk about a novel called The Old Man and the Sea. I first read it when I was fourteen years old and in high school. My best friend advised me to read it. It took me about a week to finish it. I read a chapter every night before falling asleep, and each chapter took me about half an hour.

I think this book is very useful for several reasons. First of all, it is an adventure story. When I saw the old man fighting with the shark, I felt very excited. Secondly, the old man never gives up. He taught me that when I face huge challenges in real life, I should be like him and never give up until I complete the task. Last but not least, I read the English version, so it also helped improve my English reading level. I would definitely recommend it to others because it has a nice story and gives us strength.

Part Two sample answer two: an important old thing.

There are many old things in my family, such as old chopsticks or an old fridge. But today I would like to talk about an old computer. I had this computer when I was in primary school, and I have kept it for about ten years. I used it to study, search for information and watch basketball matches. But now it is too old and too slow to use the internet, so we don't use it anymore. We put it in the study room and it is covered with dust.

It is important to my family because it was my first computer, and it is meaningful. It taught me how to use a computer and gave me a lot of fun. It also helped me a lot when I was in primary school. For example, it made it convenient for me to solve problems. Most importantly, this computer carries our family memories. It is like an old friend, and we will keep it forever.

Part Two sample answer three: an interesting traditional story.

There are many traditional stories in China. Today I would like to talk about the story called The Wolf is Coming. My grandfather told me this story when I was six years old, and it left a deep impression on me. This story is about a boy who liked to play jokes on the village.

One day, he shouted that the wolf was coming. All the farmers took their weapons and rushed over to help, but they found there was no wolf. The boy was just making a joke, and the farmers forgave him. He did it a second time, and the farmers were angry but still forgave him. However, the third time, a real wolf came and killed his sheep. The boy cried and shouted for help, but no one believed him or came to help.

I think this story tells us that we should be honest. If you always cheat others, no one will help you when you are in difficulty.

Part Three key ideas.

Some people prefer reading physical books because they can immerse themselves in the reading experience. Unlike e-books on phones or computers, physical books don't make you get distracted by apps like WeChat or games. I also enjoy flipping through the pages and taking notes when I see something important.

In recent years, reading habits have changed a lot. In the past, people read books for relaxation and entertainment. But nowadays, many people prefer short videos or chatting with friends. People don't have the attention span to finish a long novel because it takes weeks or even months.

For young people, adventure novels are useful because they teach you to never give up. It is very important for children to develop reading habits early because reading helps them build vocabulary, improve writing skills and imagination. Books are like bridges that connect readers to writers and help children understand the human condition.

Some families keep old things for a long time because those things carry family memories. Some old things are also valuable, like jewelry, watches or furniture made from exotic wood, so they pass down from generation to generation.

I think preserving family traditions is important because they are part of family and national culture. However, the world is evolving, so we should keep what is good and improve or change what is not suitable for modern life.

Old objects help us understand history. For example, old furniture and clothes can help us learn how people valued beauty differently in the past. In the past, furniture had many curves and decorations, but today's furniture is much simpler.

Some young people don't value old things because they don't share the memories behind them. They may also prefer new things because they have better living conditions. Besides, old things can be troublesome because you have to keep repairing, cleaning and fixing them. Electronic devices become outdated and slow after a few years.

Traditional stories are important to a culture because they reflect traditional culture and values. They pass down wisdom from generation to generation and help people understand their cultural identity.
