Part 1 - Reading on paper or computers
I prefer reading on paper because it gives me a real sense of reading. I can touch the paper and feel the texture. When I flip the page, I can hear the sound of paper, which is very satisfying. Also, paper books help me focus better. When I read on a screen, especially on my phone or laptop, I can easily get distracted by notifications. So for in-depth learning, I think paper is a better medium.
Part 1 - Keeping my room tidy
To be honest, I didn't keep my room tidy as a kid. I don't really have the habit of tidying things up. I usually just put things wherever I want, but I can still remember where I put them. I don't mind my room being a little messy as long as I can find all my stuff. However, at school, I keep my study space tidy because I have many classmates around me. If our things mix together, it will be a problem to find our own notes and books.
Part 2 - A time I worked in a group
I have done many group projects at school, but today I want to talk about one presentation about a book. In this project, we needed to select a book, do some research, make PowerPoint slides, and deliver a talk in class. I was assigned to be the group leader, so I had to divide up the work. I tried to do it according to everyone's strengths and weaknesses. For example, I was good at organizing things, so I planned the structure of the presentation. One of my group members was interested in art and design, so I asked her to work on the slides. At first, I felt very nervous because it was my first time leading a group. The time was limited, and the preparation was a little stressful. Luckily, although our presentation had some small problems, we still got a high mark in the end. This experience taught me that teamwork can be useful when everyone has a clear role.
Part 3 - Group work or individual work
I think it depends on the task. Group work is useful when the project is big and has many different parts. For example, if students need to do research, make slides, and give a presentation, it may be overwhelming for one person to do everything alone. In a group, different people can use their strengths in different fields, so the final result might be better. However, for individual creation, I think it is better to work alone. For example, if someone is writing a novel, painting a picture, or telling a personal story, they need their own voice and ideas. In that case, working alone can be more efficient.
Part 2 - A building I dislike
I want to describe a building that I really dislike. It is on my friend's school campus. The building is quite old, and it is shaped like a closed square. The middle is hollow, and the classrooms are built around the four sides. Everything looks very boxy and square, so there is no life to it. It looks a little like a prison. The color of the building has worn out because of the rain and weather, so it looks old and creepy. There is also an old abandoned dormitory nearby. It has broken colorful windows, white walls, and vines growing on it. At night, some of the lights flash because the light bulbs are old, so it feels like a scary movie. Every time I see that building, it gives me the chills.
