Describe a program or app on your phone
Today I want to talk about WeChat, which is probably the most important app on my phone. The first time I started using WeChat was when I was about ten years old. Since then, I have used it every single day, and I think I spend at least several hours on it every day.
The most important thing I do on WeChat is communication. I use it to keep in touch with all kinds of people, such as my friends, my parents, and my teachers. This includes sending and receiving text messages, sharing files, making voice calls, and making video calls.
WeChat is also a great social media platform. I use WeChat Moments to share pictures and thoughts with my friends, and I also use it to learn what is happening in their lives. Besides that, I use WeChat Wallet to pay for almost everything, such as meals, taxis, and the subway.
Overall, WeChat is something that I can't really live without, especially in today's world. However, it can also be a time waster, and it can be addictive sometimes. Many people check WeChat first thing in the morning and also before they go to sleep, which is not very healthy.
Describe a piece of technology you would like to own
A piece of technology I would like to own is a new computer. More specifically, I would like to get a MacBook Pro. I want a new computer because the computer I have now is pretty old and slow.
There are several reasons why I want a MacBook Pro. First, its design is simple and elegant, and some models come in different colors, which look vibrant and fun. Second, it is light and easy to carry. I am a student, so I need to carry my computer from home to campus and between different classrooms.
The third reason is that it has great battery life. It has all-day battery life, which means I can use it for the entire day without charging it. I still don't have it because it is expensive, so I am still saving up for it. Maybe I will also ask my parents to get me one.
Describe an occasion when you were not allowed to use your mobile phone
One time when I was not allowed to use my mobile phone was at a party organized by my friend. It was called a No Cell Phone Party, which means everybody had to put their phones away for the whole party.
At first, we thought the idea was stupid, and we didn't want to go, because we use our phones all the time. We thought it would be impossible to spend a whole day without looking at our phones. However, my friend convinced us to give it a try.
The first thing we did was cook together. When we had problems, we wanted to look up instructions and recipes online, but we couldn't because we didn't have our phones. So we had to be creative and figure things out by ourselves. The food tasted a little different, but it was not that bad.
Another thing we noticed was that we were more attentive to people around us. Because we did not have our phones, we could only talk to and interact with the people at the party. We listened to each other more carefully, and I got to know some of my friends better. In the end, it was meaningful and fulfilling.
Describe a plan that you had to change recently
I normally do not like changing my plans, because the whole point of having a plan is that you plan something and then you do it. However, today I want to talk about a time when I had to change my plan.
The original plan was to go to Spain for my summer vacation. I had planned this trip for a long time, and I really wanted to go. There were many reasons why I wanted to visit Spain. First, one of my friends went there and told me it was a wonderful place. Also, I had seen many beautiful pictures of Spain on the internet, including scenery, people, art, and architecture.
However, I had to cancel the trip because I needed to prepare for my IELTS exam and complete an internship. I needed a good IELTS score for my dream school, and I also needed to intern at a company for at least one month before graduation. I felt upset and disappointed, but I had to do it. If I can improve my English and finish the internship, it will also be a meaningful and fulfilling experience.
