老师示范 / 修改方向:老师纠正:第1题应选B,因为原文用 but 转折后说'some situations where consumers are less concerned about price';第5题应选D,因为苹果 perishable(容易腐烂),囤太多不实用。
复习抓手:but 后面常出答案;one of a kind = 独一无二;impractical = 不实用的;perishable = 容易腐烂的
课堂推进:进入第二篇生物课讲座,主题是鸟类在风中怎么改变飞行姿态,涉及 eagles(鹰)、hovering birds(悬停鸟)和 hummingbirds(蜂鸟)。
老师示范 / 修改方向:老师纠正:第4题答案是D,原文是'half a second(半秒钟)';第5题答案是C,对应'lose their place or fall out of the air';蜂鸟题答案是A,因为它们'move their tail back and forth'。
课堂推进:老师讲解第三篇错题,区分了 active hunting(主动捕猎)和 less energy(更少能量)的捕猎方式,分析了 antlion(蚁狮)挖洞等猎物上钩的例子。
老师处理:解释 active hunting、predator(捕食者)、prey(猎物)、dig a hole(挖洞)、rest while waiting(等待时休息)等关键表达。
老师示范 / 修改方向:老师纠正:第1题应选B,讲座核心是'expend less energy';第2题应选C,蚁狮'digging a hole in the sand...wait for ants to fall in';第3题应选B,因为'doesn't have to move around so much',所以可以休息。
课堂推进:播放第四篇商业课讲座,讲创业时遇到的 entry barriers(进入壁垒),包括 financial barrier(资金壁垒)和 customer loyalty(顾客忠诚度)。
重点学习了 one of a kind(独一无二)、impractical(不实用)、perishable(易腐烂的)等关键词
Listen to part of a lecture in a biology class.
Birds spend a lot of time in the air, and one problem they have to deal with in flight is strong wind. Windy weather conditions and strong air currents can make it difficult for birds to stay up in the air or to fly straight. So birds change the way they fly when they encounter the wind. This temporary change in the way they fly allows them to avoid getting knocked off course or knocked out of the air by strong winds.
Some birds cope with windy conditions by changing the position of their wings. This is common with soaring birds, birds that fly by stretching out their wings and gliding through the air. Heavy winds can make it difficult for these birds to fly straight and maintain the smoothness of flight, so they change their wing position to cope with that. Eagles, for example, normally fly through the air with their wings outstretched in a gliding motion. But when it's windy and the air is rough and bumpy, they fold their wings in and press them tightly against their bodies. That way they have a smoother, streamlined shape and can't get knocked off course by the wind. They hold this position for just about half a second and then spread their wings out again to continue soaring, changing their wing position again when necessary to stay on course.
Hovering birds move differently. When flying, they often just need to stay in one place in the air. But strong wind can cause them to lose their place or even fall out of the air. So hovering birds cope by changing the way they move and using another body part in addition to their wings to help them stay in the air. For example, hummingbirds need to hover in the air and stay in front of the flower from which they're drinking nectar. If the wind gets strong and they start to lose their position, they begin moving their tail back and forth to stabilize themselves.
