Honeybees are remarkable insects that live in highly organized communities called colonies. A typical colony contains one queen bee, hundreds of male bees called drones, and thousands of female worker bees. Each type of bee has specific jobs that help the colony survive.'

老师示范 / 修改方向:老师示范:drone 是雄蜂,不是飞行器;worker bee 是工蜂/雌蜂;each type of bee has specific jobs 表示每种蜜蜂都有特定工作。

The queen bee is only bee that lay eggs. She can lay up to two thousand eggs per day during spring and summer. Drones has just one purpose to mate with queens from other colonies. After mating, drones died. Worker bees, despite being female, do not lay eggs. Instead, they perform all other tasks in the colony.'

老师示范 / 修改方向:老师指出:'only bee' 是绝对词,读的时候要圈出来;mate 在这里是交配;drones 交配后 die;worker bees 虽然是雌性 but do not lay eggs。

老师处理:老师讲解 worker bees change jobs as they age,说明 cell、larvae、guard、forager、nectar、pollen 等词,请学生朗读。

学生原始输出:学生朗读:'worker bees change jobs as they age. Young worker,可以去 feed larvae, medium age works build honeycove and store food. Older worker guard the hive entrance and search for flowers. The oldest worker become foragers, flying up to five kilometers to collect nectar and pollen.'

One of the most fantastic bee behavior is when a girl dance. When a foreign find a good food source, she return to hive and perform the special dance. The direction she move tells other bees which way to fly. The length of the dance shows how far away is the food is. Scientists have studied the communication system for decades and still finding amazing.'

复习抓手:蜜蜂跳舞=交流系统;方向=which way to fly;长度=how far away;decades = 几十年

5

学生原始输出:第一题学生回答:'A 吧,they die shortly afterward。' 做那个工作蜂',老师提示 'drones have just one purpose' 后确认 'reproduce,去跟蜂王交配'。

Every night, humans spend about two hours dreaming, even if they don't remember their dreams in the morning. Dreams occur mainly during a sleep stage called REM sleep. Uh, when the brain is active but body is temporarily paralyzed, scientists have proposed several theories to explain why we dream.'

老师示范 / 修改方向:老师说明:even if = 尽管;REM = rapid eye movements(快速眼动);stage = 阶段;paralyzed = 瘫痪/不动。

复习抓手:REM sleep = 快速眼动睡眠;paralyzed = 瘫痪/不动;stage = 阶段;even if = 尽管

7

老师处理:老师讲解 process emotions、work through、intense 等词,请学生朗读。

One popular theory suggests that dreams help us process emotions. During the day, we experience many feelings, happiness, fear, stress, excitement.'

复习抓手:process emotions = 处理情绪;work through = 处理/消化;intense = 强烈的

8

老师处理:老师讲解 memory consolidation、random electrical signals、make sense of、pointless 等,请学生朗读。

学生原始输出:学生朗读:'some scientists believe dreams have no real purpose at all... according to the view looking for meaning in dreams is pretend a pointless... despite the code of research scientists still disagree about why we dream... dreaming is a normal and healthy part of sleep that happen to everyone.'

老师示范 / 修改方向:老师说明:random electrical signals = 随机电信号;make sense of = 理解/赋予意义;pointless = 无意义;科学家 disagree about why we dream,但 agree dreaming is normal and healthy。

老师处理:老师解释 reef、located off the northeast coast、stretch、astronaut、consist of 等词,请学生朗读。

学生原始输出:学生朗读:'a local of the north coast of Australia, the great barrier reef though is the world's largest coral reef system, stretching over two thousand and three hundred kilometers, it is so big that, other travelers can see it from space, the reef is not a single structure, but actually consists of nearly three thousand individual reef systems and hundreds of islands.'

复习抓手:Great Barrier Reef = 大堡礁;coral reef system = 珊瑚礁系统;stretch = 绵延;astronaut = 宇航员;consist of = 由...组成

11

学生原始输出:学生朗读:'coral reef are built by tiny animal called the coral polyps, this small creature take a calcium from a seawater and use it to build the,and how the limestone scatters, over thousands of years generation after generation of,polyps, built on top of each other, built on the top of each other, creating massive reef structures, interestingly healthy coral get its beautiful color from tiny animals that live inside the polyps.'

The Great Barrier Reef supports an incredible variety of life. It is home to over one thousand and five hundred species of fish, two hundred type of coral, and many other animals, including sea turtles, dolphins, sharks. Scientists estimate the millions of species many not yet discovered depend on reef for survival. Unfortunately, the reef face serious threats today. Rising sea temperatures cause coral bleaching... Climate change, pollution, and destructive fishing also damage reef habitats.'

复习抓手:variety of life = 生物多样性;species = 物种;coral bleaching = 珊瑚白化;expel = 排出;destructive fishing = 破坏性捕鱼

13

The direction she move tells other bees which way to fly. The length of the dance shows how far away is the food is. Scientists have studied the communication system for decades and still finding amazing.

Every night, humans spend about two hours dreaming, even if they don't remember their dreams in the morning. Dreams occur mainly during a sleep stage called REM sleep. Uh, when the brain is active but body is temporarily paralyzed, scientists have proposed several theories to explain why we dream.

One popular theory suggests that dreams help us process emotions. During the day, we experience many feelings, happiness, fear, stress, excitement.

REM 睡眠时身体 temporarily paralyzed(选 D);梦帮助人们 process emotions(处理情绪)。

a local of the north coast of Australia, the great barrier reef though is the world's largest coral reef system, stretching over two thousand and three hundred kilometers, it is so big that, other travelers can see it from space, the reef is not a single structure, but actually consists of nearly three thousand individual reef systems and hundreds of islands.

Scientists estimate the millions of species many not yet discovered depend on reef for survival. Unfortunately, the reef face serious threats today. Rising sea temperatures cause coral bleaching... Climate change, pollution, and destructive fishing also damage reef habitats.

工蜂会随着年龄换工作:年轻的 clean cells 并 feed larvae(幼虫);中年的 build honeycomb 并 store food;年老的 guard the hive entrance 并 search for flowers;最老的 become foragers(觅食者),飞 up to 5 kilometers 去收集 nectar(花蜜)和 pollen(花粉)。

梦主要发生在 REM sleep(rapid eye movement sleep,快速眼动睡眠)阶段,这时大脑很活跃,但身体 temporarily paralyzed(暂时不能动)。

尽管科学家 still disagree about why we dream,大家都同意 dreaming 是正常且健康的睡眠部分。

它们从 seawater 中吸取 calcium(钙),建造 hard limestone skeletons(石灰石骨架)。

大堡礁 supports an incredible variety of life:超过 1,500 species of fish、400 types of coral,还有 sea turtles、dolphins、sharks 等动物。

1. 看到 only、all、never 等绝对词要圈出来。

2. 指代题(she/it/they)要回看前一句的主语。

forager 不知道forager = search for food = 觅食者
